Leif Abel, Co-Founder of Greatland Ganja is a second-generation cannabis cultivator. He resides in Kasilof, Alaska with his wife, two children, and extended family. The Abels cultivate cannabis, both in greenhouses with organic methods, and hydroponically indoors. A founding member of the Alaska Marijuana Industry Association, he has focused on public education, community involvement and public input. During the regulatory process in Alaska, he was appointed to the Kenai Peninsula Borough Marijuana Task Force, where he served out his term as chairman. Leif's favorite pastimes include being with his family, hiking, camping and working on his family farm.

David Bernard-Perron is the Vice President of growing operations at The Green Organic Dutchman, and an agrologist with a Master of Science in Plant Sciences from McGill University. He began working in greenhouse production in 2001, and worked for McGill university's greenhouses and Horticultural Research Center. David worked as the lead agrologist at Whistler Medical Marijuana Corporation and designed their certified organic growing system. He is also the Chief Science Officer at Destiny Grow Systems, which supplies living soil systems and organic fertilizer.

Sjoerd Broeks is one of the world’s foremost authorities in the cultivation of Cannabis with more than 25 years of Cannabis cultivation and breeding experience. After completing the start up stage at the Pharm as Cultivation Director, Sjoerd is now the Genetic Development and R&D Director for The PHARM LLC, a cannabis cultivation business in Willcox, Ariz. that operates a 320,000 square foot glass greenhouse. Sjoerd is a founding member of The Dutch Consulting Company (DCC). DCC’s operations are based on a collaborative platform. That company has enlisted the support of many of the industries’ leading experts to assist clients, including Harborside Farms in California, where DCC assists in all areas of Cannabis operations.

Laura Day Rivero

Laura Day brings a unique perspective and vast skill set to the cannabis industry with 18 years of upper-level management experience leading operations in cultivation, retail, production, and wholesale. She has over 20 years of cannabis experience across several states, 9 years of which were in strict seed-to-sale environments. She most recently held the title of Director of Operations for Yerba Buena, a Tier 2 cannabis farm outside of Portland, Oregon, which was among the first eight recreational licenses to awarded in the state, prior to stepping into her current role as Director of Operations for Stem Holdings, a publicly traded international cannabis company. Under her oversight, Yerba Buena quickly became the best-selling flower brand in Oregon and is a household name both among Oregon consumers and nationwide. Day also cofounded the first legal cannabis business in Arizona, helped launch one of the first and most successful medical dispensaries in Arizona, and has successfully managed eight different recreational and medical cannabis businesses across the country. She is a nationally renowned speaker and influencer, and is the Vice Chair of Cannabis Certification Council and serves as an advisor to the OLCC in Oregon.

Outside of Colorado, she has pivoted her extensive retail, government relations, and vertically integrated operating experience to be a prominent consultant to a leading multi-state cannabis operator and hemp processor across the US, Canada, and Europe. Gehring currently serves as Special Advisor to the CEO of Jushi, Inc. (NEO: JUSH.B). She continues to focus on her commitments to her industry advocacy, board affiliations, along with a vigorous 2019 - 2021 roll out of over 25+ storefronts and facilities in established and emerging US markets from coast to coast to further legitimize the evolving cannabis industry.

In 2017, Goldsberry published her first book, “Idiot’s Guide: Starting and Running a Marijuana Business.”

Atalo Holdings has become a leader for transformative technologies in agricultural hemp and crop science under his guidance. Graves has overseen family agricultural enterprises for 30+ years and has spent the past 25 years leading efforts to legalize and re-commercialize industrial hemp. He currently serves on the board of the Kentucky Hemp Research Foundation and the Kentucky Hemp Industries Association, and is active with the U.S. Hemp Roundtable and other lobbying groups.

David Holmes

David Holmes has a master’s degree in Mathematics and was an award-winning adjunct mathematics professor. He was awarded a fellowship to conduct research at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. Holmes was inspired to cultivate marijuana in 1999 after a visit to a high-tech indoor garden. He launched his first large-scale commercial facility in 2007. Shortly thereafter, Clade9 was formed to meet demand for cultivation experts. Applying his expertise in grow room design and management, as well as world-class nutrients, Holmes focused on medical marijuana strain breeding. He has developed over a dozen strains including the Ying Yang, a high-CDB strain with superior seizure-reducing capacities.

Jesce Horton

Jesce Horton is an engineer by education, an energy management and automation expert through training and a horticulturalist by passion. Horton founded LOWD, a Tier I indoor connoisseur-focused cultivation facility in metro Portland, Oregon. Also, he co-founded the Minority Cannabis Business Association, a nonprofit organization founded to create equal access and economic empowerment for cannabis businesses, their patients, and the communities most affected by the war on drugs.

Horton’s past work in industrial energy efficiency and success in the cannabis industry has been recognized by Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, who appointed him to the Task Force for Cannabis Environmental Best Practice. He also serves as board chairman for the Resource Innovation Institute. Last year, with his wife Jeannette, Horton founded the Nu Leaf Project, a nonprofit that will deliver grants, educational resources, job-matching assistance and entrepreneurial services to cannabis business owners and career hopefuls.

Nicholas Jack is a professional cannabis retail sales expert and overall virtuoso on the subject of cannabis. Prior to joining the cannabis industry, Mason worked as a journalist for the Portland Business Journal where he co-founded and served as Interim Editor of Sustainable Business Oregon. He also served as Vice President of Oregon Environmental Council's Emerging Leaders Board, working to engage young people on policy and advocacy work at the state level.

A native New Yorker (the state, not the city), Mason holds a degree in supply chain & logistics from Portland State University. He enjoys making dry cider, playing basketball, and backpacking the wild corners of the Pacific Northwest.

Don E. Wirtshafter is an Athens, Ohio, attorney and entrepreneur. He was a pioneer in the modern cannabis industry. His legal career involved projects utilizing cannabis production around the world. From 1991 to 2000, Wirtshafter was the CEO of the Ohio Hempery Inc.—a catalyst in what became a successful movement to reintroduce industrial hemp to the modern world. The Hempery was the first company since the 1930s to produce hemp seed oil, sell hemp foods, and print on hemp paper. Wirtshafter has traveled the world studying the growth and production of industrial hemp and medical cannabis since the early 1970s. During his career he has collected and documented the history of cannabis medicines. His present work is the culmination of a lifelong dream to create a museum for the maligned cannabis plant.
