Kenneth Loshelder, PE, LEED AP, Director of Engineering and Field Services, has been a LEED-Accredited Professional mechanical engineer for over twelve years and holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. As Surna’s head of engineering and field services, Kenneth mentors and advises young and seasoned engineering and technical professionals.
Kenneth has been directly involved with and/or led projects that include a wide range of HVAC designs covering projects for large commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. In prior positions, he’s provided LEED existing/new building commissioning services and technically supported energy savings performance contracts. These roles were focused on testing and verifying systems in the field to optimize energy performance, but also included performing energy audits of existing buildings to identify and calculate paybacks for potential energy efficiency measures. Working as a contractor to Washington River Protection Solutions, a prime contractor managing cleanup of the Hanford Nuclear Site in Washington state, he developed and supported federal sustainability programs to decrease the site’s environmental impact.
Through Kenneth’s 16+ years in the industry, he has provided consulting services in HVAC, plumbing, and controls design, new and existing building commissioning and energy analysis and auditing. He’s supported hundreds of project teams in delivering effective and efficient systems to meet design requirements.
