Michelle Hackett is president of Riverview Farms, a vertically integrated, family-owned and -operated cannabis company that includes nursery, cultivation and distribution licenses based in the Salinas Valley, Calif., where she was born and raised. Michael Hackett, Michelle Hackett’s father, established Riverview in 2016, and 75% of the company’s workforce are women. While attending college at Saint Mary’s in Moraga, Calif., Michelle Hackett began a sales and marketing internship for a local ag grower/shipper called Growers Express, an experience that sparked her interest and passion for the industry and growers in the area. After graduating with a degree in business, Hackett worked for a Bay Area marketing firm specializing in grocery chains within California, but missed home and working in agriculture. After moving back to Salinas Valley, Hackett first joined family-owned and -operated company called Church Brothers. Now, Hackett works alongside her family at Riverview, including her sister Lauren.
